CTOS

CTOS Score

A credit score from 300–850 calculated by CTOS Data Systems, Malaysia's largest credit reporting agency. Higher scores indicate lower credit risk to lenders.

CTOS aggregates data from CCRIS, court judgments (bankruptcies, legal actions), trade references, and public records. A score above 697 is generally considered 'good' by Malaysian banks. Unlike CCRIS, CTOS includes non-banking data — a bounced cheque or legal judgment appears here even if you have no loans.

You can check your CTOS MyCTOS report once free per year, and pay a small fee for additional checks. Banks use both CTOS and CCRIS when evaluating loan applications — a strong CTOS score helps, but a poor CCRIS repayment history can still cause rejection.
