CCRIS

Central Credit Reference Information System

A central database maintained by Bank Negara Malaysia that records your credit history with all licensed financial institutions — loans, credit cards, outstanding balances, and repayment track record.

Every bank and credit card issuer in Malaysia reports to CCRIS. When you apply for a loan or credit card, the lender pulls your CCRIS report to see your outstanding facilities and repayment behaviour. Late payments (even one missed payment) appear on CCRIS for 12 months.

Unlike CTOS, CCRIS is run by BNM and covers only licensed financial institutions. You can get your CCRIS report free from any BNM branch or BNM's eCCRIS portal online. Employers and landlords do not have access to CCRIS — only licensed lenders can query it.
