What you need to know now
- The monthly BUDI95 quota went back up from 200 to 300 litres on 1 September 2026. (MOF media statement — BUDI MADANI quota back to 300 litres from 1 September 2026)
- Subsidised RON95 stays at RM1.99 per litre. (MOF media statement — petrol and diesel prices for 1 to 7 October 2026 (BUDI95 RM1.99, BUDI Diesel RM2.10))
- Owners of eligible private diesel pick-ups and jeeps can apply for an extra 100 litres a month. Since 1 September 2026 that takes their monthly limit from 300 to 400 litres. Am I eligible?
- Malaysian citizens with a MyKad and a valid driving licence. There is no registration: you tap your MyKad at the pump. (BUDI MADANI — official FAQ (RON95 and diesel))
- Your MyKad details must match your driving licence records, or the subsidy may not apply at the pump. Fix a mismatch at JPJ. (MOF media statement — make sure your MyKad and licence details match for BUDI95)
- BUDI Diesel is for Malaysians who meet the BUDI95 rules and own a private diesel vehicle with valid road tax. They pay RM2.10 a litre by showing their MyKad, within the same monthly limit as BUDI95. (MOF media statement — BUDI Diesel nationwide from 1 July 2026)

How to check or appeal
- Go to the official BUDI Madani site. Type the address yourself rather than following a link from a message. www.budimadani.gov.my ↗
- Check your remaining monthly quota there or in the fuel app you already use at the pump.
- If the pump charges you the unsubsidised price, check that your MyKad and driving licence records match, then follow the official site's steps.
- There is no BUDI95 app to download from a link. Never share your IC number, bank details or OTP to 'register' or 'unlock' BUDI95.
What changed
